We are looking for an Area Sales Manager that will drive and develop the Betafence group business in Sweden and Norway who will head up business development, project management and build long-term relationships withresellers, customers as well as approaching new key accounts. As an Area Sales Manager you will join an exciting segment of a large multinational manufacturing company as well as representing values in both internal and customer-facing interactions.

Responsibilities

  • To manage existing customers and to gain a deep understanding of their needs and requirements
  • To understand target markets, including industries, companies, projects and company contacts
  • To research prospective accounts in targeted markets and to pursue leads through to successful agreements
  • To identify and explore commercial opportunities within the market
  • To act as the link between external customers and internal key stakeholders
  • To resolve issues/problems faced by customers and to deal with complaints in order to maintain trust
  • To engage with other ASM from other regions to discuss best practices and new opportunities
  • To support the Product Management by assisting with the development of existing and new products, helping to create innovative solutions for our customers
  • To prepare bespoke strategic plans, encompassing sales, marketing and pricing activities, to maximise opportunities and value for both parties
  • To identify the gate keepers (key influencers and decision-makers) within customer organisations and to develop an action plan to deepen the relationship with this audience, drawing on the support from senior stakeholders within Betafence where appropriate
  • To contribute to the creation and implementation of sales strategies to maximise short and long-term revenue opportunities
  • To manage and continuously update sales activity within the customer relationship management (CRM) tool

  • To prepare regular reports regarding business development, opportunities and sales forecasts
  • Responsible for sales budget and growth plans
  • Contract negotiation

Preferred personal traits and skills

You have a degree in commercial education or engineering and enjoy managing and developing business. You have documented professional experience as an Area Sales manager or key account manager and have a technically mindset as well as developed social skills.  You have B2B sales and project management experience, excellent analytical skills and have a passion to drive change and experience of presenting proposals to customers at senior management level.

You have the ability to communicate with both customers and colleagues in a structured manner and command strong negotiation skills with a problem-solving approach. You will be working towards clearly defined sales targets and are able to work within a team but also extremely competent when alone.

Knowledge of CAD/SW is an advantage. Perimeter protection, fence contracting business and industrial markets is advantageous but not essential.

You'll be given great influence over your work and you should be able to prioritise and structure your days and activities. You have a positive attitude when dealing with people and have the ability to work under pressure, to tight deadlines whilst maintaining work priorities.

Given that our clients are located both in Sweden and Norway, this job requires that you travel about 3 days a week. You’re fluent in spoken and written Swedish, Norwegian and English. You should also be prepared to travel to Betafencefacilities in Europe.

We highly value your personal qualities and team working skills. You report directly to the Regional Sales manager Nordic. This position does not have any staff responsibility.

This position can be located in either of the following cities: Malmoe, Gothenburg, Stockholm in Sweden or Oslo area in Norway.
