About the position

We are now looking for a forward-thinking and business-driven Managing Director to 5.11 EMEA with clear goals and ambitions, and who wants to join us on our growth journey.

As the Managing Director for EMEA Region, you are responsible for strategically expanding the brand and revenue growth, navigating the many complexities with local culture, laws, compliance, taxation, and currency as well as several others. Doing so will involve cultivating our brand, interacting with the broad range of Prosumers and Everyday Consumers, activating through our channels of Consumer Wholesale (CWS), Direct to Agency (DTA), Direct to Consumer (DTC), and Professional Wholesale (PWS). The Managing Director role is a critical leadership position to develop the functional capabilities to support the evolving needs of the business. Collaboration and open communication with global functional leaders and across other international regions to implement corporate directives, share key learnings, and best practices will be paramount to your success.

In addition to the overall responsibility for employees and daily operations you are responsible for:

  • Complete P&L
  • Within the region, deliver the company’s global mission, vision, and strategy to thoughtfully leverage talents, resources and investments, which complements the global business plans.
  • Provide leadership to the team throughout the assigned region; developing teams and leaders who are engaged, adaptable, internally and externally aware and ready to step up when the workload becomes most challenging.
  • Leverage business partners to develop a go-to-market strategy, which brings together current and future customer targets.
  • Evolve the Direct to Customer (DTC) business to accelerate growth and enhance the customer experience across all targeted segments and markets.
  • Develop and share a deep understanding of our markets to ensure alignment, prioritize investments and drive execution.
  • Maintain a relentless focus on enhancing the consumer experience across our omnichannel platform to ensure we are constantly improving acquisition, retention, and service.
  • Open the aperture to new business and customers by building a pipeline of new opportunities and nurturing existing portfolio.
  • Lead and develop regional functions as well as RASCI operating models and ensure regional strategies, initiatives and metrics are achieved.
  • Create regional and local strategies that activate opportunities while managing strategic investments
  • Foster new and existing relationships with Prosumers and Everyday Consumers to expand and strengthen our 5.11 ecosystem.
  • Ensure alignment with global functional leaders and regional leadership team to maximize resources, drive brand consistency and steward corporate culture.
  • Provide corporate leadership with ongoing insight into the regional realities, successes, opportunities, and overall market conditions.
  • Prepare and present comprehensive business insights and detailed analysis as needed including Board Meetings, quarterly business reviews and weekly leadership meetings.
  • Leverage 5.11 systems and data to inform, adapt and build operational capabilities and enhance the consumer experience across our omnichannel platform.

The role is a part of the group's management team as well as the EMEA team and reports to the VP International Sales in the US. Ability and willingness to travel approximately 30% of the time to the regions within EMEA as well as US is expected.

Experiences

You are result- and business-oriented with a proactive entrepreneurial drive with great interest in people, you are passionate about your work and lead by example. You have a solid international experience from general management or sales management, knowledge from B2B and B2C or both and a proven track record within sales excellence. You are also an analytical leader with a helicopter view and positive attitude, with the capacity to develop a commercial strategic plan and execute it

It is extra meritorious if you have experience from working with US based companies, production and sourcing, public procurement as well as experience from digitalization in order to grow the business.

The candidate must have a relevant academic education or equivalent and be fluent in English, both spoken and written. The 5.11 group language is English and is practiced next to Swedish in the Malmö office, given the many nationalities of the employees.

The 5.11 International EMEA organization was founded 20 years ago by and the EMEA head office is located in Malmö, Sweden where the head functions are situated. The 5.11 EMEA turnover is around SEK 450 million with equally ambitious growth plans as the mother entity has. The number of employees is approx. 60 people. The EMEA organization are present on the European, Middle East, Africa and Indian markets.
